Gary N. Wildman, age 80, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016. He was born on June 27, 1935, in Martin County as the son of John Byford and Maxine Wildman.
He graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School in Evansville in 1953 and attended the University of Puget Sound in Washington. He served in the Army from 1957 to 1959 and 1961 to 1962. He married Judy Leilani (Ah Chick) on December 24, 1974.
He worked for International Harvester in Indianapolis and retired as a manager in 1987. Gary and his late wife rode motorcycles and also ran a custom parts business, Eagle Engineering for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing for more than 65 years including annual family trips to Canada as well as participating in semi-professional bass tournaments in the 1970s and ’80s.
He is survived by his brother, Roger; six children, Scott (Diane) Wildman of St. Louis, Kim Lindley
of Florida, John (Justina) Wildman of New York, Ralph (Carla) Julian, Daniel Julian of Greenfield,
and Kendall (Brittany) Wildman of Greenfield; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Wildman; and parents John Byford and Maxine Wildman.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 U.S. 40 West, Greenfield, IN 46140.
