Movie nights begin today

GREENFIELD — Greater Grace of Central Indiana Church will offer a free movie night at 7 p.m. the second Saturday of the month beginning in May. It will feature a large screen, surround sound and free refreshments. The church is located at 320 W. Walnut St.

Live event offers Old Testament overview

FORTVILLE — The Fortville Church of the Nazarene will play host to a “Walk Thru the Bible” Live Event on the Old Testament.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday, lasting until 9, and continues from 2 to 6 p.m. May 21.

The cost is $10 per person, which includes a workbook.

Organizers say Walk Thru the Bible events unpack the big picture of the Bible in an exciting, engaging way that brings people together and unveils God’s epic story as never experienced before.

You can register for this live event by calling the church office at 485-6443. The church is located at 701 S. Maple St. in Fortville.

Session to offer seniors tips on accessing services

PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia United Methodist Church will play host to an informational speaker for seniors at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church, 2265 U.S. 40 West.

Most senior citizens would like to stay in their own homes and live independently as long as possible, but aging makes it hard to do so. There are many services available for seniors in the Hancock County area to help them achieve their goals for living independently, but many people do not know of these services or how to access them. 

Dean McFarland will share information and offer contacts for these resources at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Philadelphia United Methodist Church, 2265 U.S. 40 West. The meeting will be in the sanctuary and is free and open to the public.

St. John offers community dinner

CUMBERLAND — St. John United Church of Christ, 11910 E. Prospect St., will have a community dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Everyone is welcome.

Camp meeting coming

GREENFIELD — The International Conservative Holiness Association will have its annual Camp Meeting June 7-12 at the Christian Family Center, five miles north of Greenfield.

It will feature evangelists Darrell Stetler and Jeremy Fuller, song evangelists The Glicks, and various services and programs for families, children and youth.

Chicken and noodle dinner is today

McCORDSVILLE — McCordsville United Methodist Church’s next Second Saturday Community Dinner is set for 4:30 to 6 p.m. today. The menu features chicken and noodles (noodles are homemade), a salad bar and a variety of desserts. A free-will offering will be accepted for the meal.

Open house chance to check out moms group

GREENFIELD — Mothers of children from infants through kindergartners are invited to a party from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Brandywine Community Church, 1551 E. New Road.

Fish fry planned at Mt. Lebanon church

BRANDYWINE TOWNSHIP — Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3447 S. State Road 9, will serve a fish fry from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 21. The menu will feature fried fish, hot dogs, French fries, hush puppies, cole slaw, dessert and beverage.

A free-will offering will be accepted, with proceeds going to missions and special projects.
