MT. COMFORT — Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church of the Risen Christ is creating a free children’s learning experience of the Bible coming alive.

Kids Kingdom is for children from age 2 to sixth grade. It will meet from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sundays, mostly on the church lawn or in the gym. It is designed for the community, and organizers are preparing for 100 children.

Each age level, with about 10 in each group under the direction of two teachers, will hear a Bible lesson along with music, drama, play and snacks.

Church members have built a castle on the front lawn of the church as a focal point for the program and a place where the children can play.

Each session lasts five weeks, then the session is renewed for another five weeks, then another, until the summer has been covered.

The first session begins at 4 p.m. May 22, but there is a kickoff at noon Sunday at the church.

Kids Kingdom also will offer a Bible and Discussion Group for adults while the children are meeting. This group will also help parents with questions pertaining to raising children in accordance with the Bible and an understanding of faith and justice.
