Police plan service to honor fallen officers
GREENFIELD — The community is invited to a memorial service Sunday honoring local police officers who died in the line of duty.
The even begins at 2 p.m. at the Hancock County Fraternal Order of Police Post 140, 400 E. Davis Road, Greenfield, to honor officers fallen officers Malcolm Grass, Dannie Garrison and Will Phillips.
The services falls on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, a day of remembrance observed by hundreds of police departments across the country.
Organizers said the event will pay tribute to those who died, while celebrating the everyday sacrifices of hardworking officers.
