Police investigating break-in at local gun shop

FORTVILLE — Fortville police are asking the public’s help in identifying four young men who broke into a local gun store and stole shooting equipment early Sunday morning, officials said.

Police say the men entered M&J Firearms, 24 S. Main St., Fortville, after breaking a window around 2 a.m. Sunday. Invest-igators say no guns were taken, but various shooting equipment was stolen.

Surveillance video from the store shows the four suspects looking into the front windows of the shop moments before one suspect shatters the glass.

Police believe the suspects used that opening in the glass to enter the store. Two of the men can be seen rifling through the store’s office while the others make their way around the store, pocketing various gun accessories, police said.

The four suspects are young black men in the late teens or early 20s. Each was wearing a hooded sweatshirt at the time of the burglary.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fortville Police Department at 317-485-4044.
