District aligns with New Castle calendar
CHARLOTTESVILLE — Eastern Hancock Schools Corp. Board recently voted to align the district’s 2016-17 calendar more closely with that of New Castle Community Schools.
Board members voted to move Eastern’s spring break to overlap with New Castle’s because nearly 100 students attend the New Castle Career Center. With the current calendar, those students would have had two weeks of half-days of school rather than the two-week spring break their peers enjoyed.
