Shredding events set at area bank
HANCOCK COUNTY — Greenfield Banking Company is conducting a series of free shredding events to encourage residents to safely dispose of documents containing personal information in coming months.
Only paper products are accepted, and residents must limit materials to one large lawn and leaf trash bag full of documents.
All events run from 9 a.m. to noon.
The events will take place as follows:
May 7: 111 W. Broadway St., Fortville
June 11: 51 N. Meridian Rd., Greenfield
June 25: 12140 E. Washington St., Cumberland
July 23: 1920 N. State St., Greenfield
Aug. 20: 7363 N. County Road 600W, McCordsville
Sept. 17: 5783 W. U.S. 52, New Palestine
Get rid of old tires, electronics
GREENFIELD — Hancock County Solid Waste Management District will conduct a collection event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 23 at the Covance Laboratories campus, 371 S. Meridian Road, Greenfield.
Residents can drop off unwanted electronics, including televisions and computers, documents to be shredded and tires for prices between $3 and $5. To see a detailed list of what items will be accepted, visit recycle hancockcounty.com.
Race historian to speak at event
GREENFIELD — Donald Davidson, historian of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, will deliver a presentation to members of the Greenfield Chamber of Commerce at the organization’s next luncheon on April 5.
The lunch event, which costs $15, will be at NineStar Connect, 2243 E. Main St. in Greenfield. Register for the event by visiting greenfieldcc.org/events.
