Diana Swann
Diana Swann, 78, of Pendleton, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016. Diana was born in Indianapolis, on May 27, 1937, to the late Elmer and Louise (Glover) Schaekel.
In the summer of 1956, while on break from Indiana University, Diana met the love of her life, Keith Swann and the two were married in 1957. Diana and Keith were blessed with five children. After raising her children, she went into the workforce working for the Department of Defense in the Department of Transportation at the Finance Center at Ft. Benjamin Harrison.
Diana was a strong, caring and compassionate woman. She could be described as protective, a bit headstrong and dedicated to everything she put her mind to. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, swimming, boating and camping at Dale Hollow, vacations at St. Augustine, Fla., and collecting sharks teeth on the beaches of Ponte Vedra. She was also an avid collector of Boyds Bears and Thomas Clarke Gnomes.
Diana is survived by her loving husband, of 59 years, Keith Swann; her children, Cheryl Yacone (the late, Frank), Sheila Tunison (Steven), Christy Swann, Linda Moss, and Michael Swann (Kim); her grandchildren, Kyle Tunison (Lisa), Chad Tunison (Charly), Matt Yacone, Damon Moss, Miranda Moss, Taylor Swann, Robert Moss and Brandon Taylor; great-grandchildren, Grady, Connor, RaeLee, Caylee and Sawyer; one brother, Edward Schaekel (Gloria) and her beloved dog, Sassy.
Friends called from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2016 and additionally from 11 a.m. until 1p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at the funeral center. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
