Foundation to host Taste of Mt. Vernon

GREENFIELD — The Mt. Vernon Education Foundation will host the sixth annual Taste of Mt. Vernon on March 3.

The event will be hosted at Adaggios, and will feature appetizers, entrees and desserts from local restaurants, as well as a silent auction and entertainment.

Since 2008, the Mt. Vernon Schools Corp. community has contributed close to $200,000 in grant awards to students and faculty, according to information from the foundation.

“Working together, we have provided high ability learning opportunities for our elementary students, AP training for high school teachers, books for a whole school to share the joy of reading the same book at the same time and much more” information states. “Our faculty is dreaming big, and it is the goal of the Mt.Vernon Education Foundation to bring those dreams to life.”

The Mt. Vernon Education Foundation is a nonprofit corporation with the goal of helping each student reach his or her greatest potential, according to information from the foundation.

Tickets will be $30 in advance or $40 at the door; VIP tickets, which include general admission, two drink tickets per person, a raffle ticket, reserved parking and express auction check out, will be $100.

The foundation is seeking sponsorships from $300 to $1,750. It is also seeking donations to the silent auction.
