MT. COMFORT — Mt. Comfort Elementary School students are being encouraged to “Pass It Forward” and do acts of kindness for family members, friends and strangers.

The second annual campaign launched Jan. 15. Students are given “Pass It Forward” cards. The student’s mission is to do something kind for someone and leave the card behind, hopefully inspiring the person to do something kind for someone else. The life skill students learn is that by doing something for others, the reward has a substantial personal impact through their benevolence.

The program is in conjunction with Martin Luther King Jr. Day and National Day of Service. Last year’s “Pass It Forward” campaign made a difference for countless people. Examples included students making cookies for a neighbor, passing out pennies to children in Meijer so they could ride “Sandy” the penny pony and giving $10 of their own money for a stranger’s food bill at Steak ‘n’ Shake.
