● Vectren planning automated readers

Vectren Energy, a utilities provider, has launched a new program to install automated meter reading devices at properties throughout Hancock County.

In coming weeks, crews from Vectren will begin installing transmitters on meters in Fortville, Greenfield, McCordsville and New Palestine.

The new technology will allow meter readers to obtain meter readings by driving routes rather than walking from meter to meter.

Customers might see changes in the monthly bill due date, according to a release from the company.
