Connie M. (Marling) Brown, 83, of Elyria, Ohio, died Dec. 23, 2015, at her daughter’s home in New Palestine. She was born Jan. 6, 1932, in Bellaire, Ohio.
Connie was a lifetime educator and advocate for children through her career and volunteer work. She was a 1949 Bellaire high school graduate, received her BS in education from OSU 1953, her MS in education, and a 6 year education specialist degree from KSU.
Surviving are two children, Mark (Gail) Brown of Elyria and Jodi (Ali) Basaran of New Palestine; sister, Marilyn (Bob) Kopyar of Bellaire; brothers, Richard (Shirley) Marling of Dublin and Gilbert (Beth) Marling of Lorain; nine grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Jan. 16, 2016, in the chapel of the Elyria First United Methodist Church, located at 312 Third St. Elyria, Ohio. A grave site service for her family will follow at 1 p.m. on January 17, 2016, at New Greenwood Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.
