Cost of building permits to rise 50 percent in 2016
GREENFIELD — It’s going to cost more to build new construction in Greenfield in 2016.
City officials this week approved an estimated 50 percent increase in building permit fees, which are required for new construction in city limits.
The fee for a new single-story, single-family home increased to $250 from $165. In the county, similar construction costs a minimum of $300.
Building a deck or porch will cost $45 for the building permit compared with $30.
