GREENWOOD — Macy’s at Greenwood Park Mall, 1251 U.S. 31 North, will celebrate the 89th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday with some larger-than-life characters and an afternoon of Peanuts comic strip activities. PBS planning to feature Thanksgiving history

YOUR LIVING ROOM — PBS’ “American Experience” will present a new documentary by Ric Burns called “The Pilgrims” on Tuesday and again on Thanksgiving Day. “The Pilgrims” tells the full story of the Pilgrims derived from multiple historic sources covering the harsh conditions they faced, the commercial nature of the settlement and the grim details of their treatment of the natives they encountered. It also describes the transformation of the facts into a story more in line with current American values, while highlighting the courage to make a life in a new land of wilderness. Check local listings for air time.
