Dorothy J. Brewer, 99, of Sterling Heights, Mich., formerly of Fortville, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at Cherrywood Nursing and Living in Sterling Heights, Mich. She was born Aug. 13, 1916, in Jasonville, Ind., to the late Joseph and Cassie (Hadley) Harris.
Dorothy had been a homemaker and worked at the Vernon Township High School cafeteria. She was a member of the Fortville Church of the Nazarene.
Dorothy is survived by son, Joseph (Judy) McClure of Warren, Mich.; grandchildren, Deborah St John, Wendy Eaton and Jodi Kloock; sisters, Lavon Breeden of Indianapolis and Floretta Manning of Odon, Ind. and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Joseph R. McClure in 1966 and Perry Brewer in 1984; brothers, Clifford J. Harris and Joseph Harris; sisters, Flossie Smith and Edna Beal.
Friends may call from10 a.m. until Noon on Nov. 2, 2015, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will take place immediatley following with Pastor Phil Edwards officiating. Burial will take place in Hull Cemetery, Terre Haute, IN.
