Constitution committee to meet Thursday

GREENFIELD — The Constitution Committee and Tea Party of Hancock County will meet Thursday to kick off the 2016 campaign season.

A meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the commissioners’ room at the courthouse annex, 111 American Legion Place, Greenfield.

Republican Matt Holland, who plans to run against Commissioner Brad Armstrong in May for the District 3 seat, will be the guest speaker.

Other issues on the agenda include reports on the proposed new fairgrounds project, discussion about the Pennsy Trail, a $2 million bond recently adopted by the county and a proposed 1 percent increase in the county’s food and beverage tax.

The meeting is open to the public.
