Wear purple to fight domestic violence

GREENFIELD — Two Central Indiana organizations aimed at helping women in crisis are asking community members to wear purple on Oct. 22 to take a stand against domestic abuse.

To mark October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Alternatives Inc., a Madison County-based women’s shelter and information center, and the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence are asking businesses and organizations to send in photos of employees and members participating in Purple Thursday to show support of domestic violence victims and survivors, organizers said.

Photos may be sent to [email protected] with information about the group and its location. The pictures will be posted on the Alternatives Inc. Facebook page.
