Nancy Savannah Underwood
Nancy Savannah Underwood, 83, of Fortville, passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015. She was born Aug. 13, 1932, in Hamilton County and was the daughter of the late Calvin and Geneva (Whetsel) Brown.
Nancy grew up in Fortville. Graduated from Fortville High School in 1950. She married Turman Rushton and together raised four children, two girls and two boys moving to California in 1959. Turman passed away in 1982.
Nancy remarried in 1983 to Jack Underwood. They resided in Torrance, Calif., moved to San Diego, Harlingen, Texas and in 2002 back home to Fortville.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Underwood; her children, Trent Rushton, Renee Codd, Vince (Butch) Rushton and Valerie Rushton Davis; sisters, DianneTrueblood and Bette Gray; brother- in _ law, Bill (Barbara) Underwood; stepdaughter, Lynn Porter; stepson, Jimmy (Vicky) Underwood; step daughter- in- law, Ruth Underwood: 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and first husband, Turman Rushton, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Brandon Short; brothers- in- law, Bob and Rick Underwood; stepson, Jack Underwood; brother, Ritchie Brown.
There will not be a visitation and the family will have a private service.
