Michael Ray Johnson

Michael Ray Johnson, 65, of Pendleton, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center. He was born on May 7, 1950, in Shelbyville, as the son of Arnold and Rose (Isaacs) Johnson.

Michael graduated from Hancock Central High School in 1968. He honorably served in the Army from 1969-1971 and was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War.

He worked for PEN Products as an industrial engineer for many years before retiring. Mr. Johnson was a member of the VFW and American Veterans. He enjoyed wood working, watching football, and was a fan of Joe Montana. He also loved camping, rappelling, and traveling on his Harley. Michael was very devoted and loving to his children and grandchildren.

Michael is survived by his son, Michael Johnson of Pendleton; daughter, Roianne Johnson of Pendleton; brother, Joe (Maureen) Johnson of Rochester, Minn.; sister, Kay (Dan) Anderson of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Carson Johnson and Coleton Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Rose (Isaacs) Johnson and grandmother, Smara Delhagen.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, also at the mortuary. Pastor Randall Parker will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield with military rites presented by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard.
