Thomas L. "Tom" Dennis, 62, of Carthage, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab in Greenfield. He was born Feb. 17, 1953, in Connersville, the son of Russell and Bonnie (Singleton) Dennis. He married Barbara Kile on October 24, 1987, and she survives.

Tom graduated from Connersville High School in 1971 and attended Ivy Tech College for computer classes.

He was a member of Shiloh Christian Church, where he was a deacon and made the weekly church bullentin.

Tom was a truck driver for 34 years, driving a tanker for Amoco and BP for 15 years. He also owned SuLane Signs for the past 15 years.

Tom enjoyed golfing and had bowled in a bowling league.

He sang in and managed the Visions of Faith gospel group. He enjoyed singing bass with them last Sunday, when the group visited him at Kindred.

Other survivors include his sons, Thomas Wade (Amy) Dennis of Dunbar, Penn., Duane (Penny) Snyder of Lawrence and Jeff (Stacey) Snyder of Hagerstown; daughters, April Poteet of Granite Falls, N.C., Cynthia Greenwell of Lizton and Stephanie (fiance, Jim McFatridge) Schultz  of Roselle, Ill.; brothers, Duane (Barbara) Dennis  of Ocala, Fla., Don (Cheryl) Dennis of Murray, Ky. and Kenneth Dennis of Dunnellon, Fla.; sisters, Barbara (Pete) Taylor of Brownsville, Mary (Eddy) Hamill of Henderson, Peggy Barrett of Brownsburg and Carolyn Jessup of Lewisville; 21 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jeanetta James. Tom also leaves behind his dog, Precious.

Visitation will be from 2 – 6 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2015 and from 9:30 – 10 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2015, at Shiloh Christian Church, 4980 South County Road 500 East, in Greenfield.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2015, at the church, with Pastor Fred Girdwood officiating.

Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.

Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Chrisitan Church.
