Jazz group scheduled to perform on plaza

GREENFIELD — The Director’s Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Chris Taylor, will perform at 7 p.m. Friday as part of Greenfield Banking Co.’s Entertainment on Plaza series. The Director’s Jazz Orchestra is the resident band of the Madison County Jazz Festival and has played with jazz notables such as Roger Ingram, Wycliffe Gordon, Greg Bissonette and Tom Garling. Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs or a blanket and enjoy this free concert.

Theater to host family film fest

GREENFIELD — “The Penguins of Madagascar” will be shown at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Legacy Cinema, 2347 W. Main St., as part of Legacy’s Family Film Festival. “The Penguins of Madagascar” follows the adventures of Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private, penguins who live in the Central Park Zoo, as they try to stop Dr. Octavius Brine from destroying the world. Twenty North Gallery presents new artist

GREENFIELD — The work of oil and pastel artist Anastasiya Combs is on display through the end of August at the Twenty North Gallery, 20 N. State St. Combs was raised in St. Petersburg, Russia, and moved to the U.S. in 1997. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, from noon to 4 p.m. Fridays and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, or by appointment at 317-477-7664.

Columbus conducting Waldo scavenger hunt

COLUMBUS — Kids, parents and Where’s Waldo-lovers are invited to participate in a citywide scavenger hunt for Waldo through the end of July. Images of the striped-shirted, bespectacled Waldo are hidden in 25 businesses in downtown Columbus. A Waldo passport can be obtained at Viewpoint Books, 548 Washington St., and participants can collect a stamp or signature for each Waldo discovered to be eligible for prizes.
