Cherie Meliss Foss, 69, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born June 17, 1946, in Chehalis, Wash., to the late John and Hattie (Lester) Kizer.
Cherie served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. She received her Associates degree in Business Administration and was the Executive Secretary for the Director of Accounts Receivable at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Indianapolis. Cherie was an avid reader, a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a trivia buff.
She is survived by her son, Lawrence “Larry” (Jessica Gilley) Trahan, of Greenfield; brothers; John Kizer and Chris Kizer, both of Oklahoma and Howard Roberts of Washington; sister, Judy Fiest of Washington and grandson, Clayton Blackburn, of Georgia.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140 with funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial immediately following the service at Park Cemetery with military rites provided by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard.
