Alfred Junior “Jr.” Huweart, 66, of Greenfield, died Friday, June 26, 2015. He was born on April 4, 1949, in Washington County, Pa., as the son of Harry and Catherine (Griest) Huweart. Al served with Marine Corps during the Vietnam War; he received a Purple Heart and National Defense Service Medal. He married Sandra Sue (Lindamood) on Feb. 11, 1989.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra of Greenfield; son, Scott Huweart of Muncie; daughter, Carrie Belvins of Colorado; stepdaughters, Kelly (Beboy) Diaz and Murna (Tom) Lisk both of Greenfield; stepson, William (Telicia) Mann of Summerville, S.C.; siblings, Harry (Mary Jane) Huweart of Brownsville, Pa., Ronald Huweart of Coal Center, Pa., Joe (Char) Huweart of Charleroi, PA, Mary (Don) Filtz of Belle Vernon, Pa., Faye Painter of Perryopolis, Pa., Rose (Richard) Demko of Fla., James (Sue) Huweart of Monessen, Pa. and Paula (Jim) Quigley of Brownsville, Pa.; three stepgrandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Catherine Huweart; infant son, Christopher Huweart and siblings, Annie Caulk, Gene Huweart and Judy Brumley.
Visitation will be held from 1 – 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. with full military honors presented by the Greenfield Veteran Honor Guard. Burial will follow at Marion National Cemetery in Marion.
