HANCOCK COUNTY — A soil health workshop will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Memorial Park Smith Building, 2221 N. Memorial Drive, New Castle.

Hancock County Solid Waste Management District is participating in the workshop, which will address public concerns about long-term sustainability and productivity of agriculture.

The workshop aims to help local farmers be resilient in the face of extreme weather events, lessen their environmental impact and ensure the long-term profitability of their operations.

The workshop will share how farmers can accomplish these goals by focusing on soil health systems and will include interactive visual demonstrations.
