Library to present ‘Jill’s Giant Adventure’

GREENFIELD — The Minnestrista Theatre will present “Jill’s Giant Adventure” at 10 a.m. Friday at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road.

In a story told through puppets and actors, Jill and her brother, Jack, escape from a giant’s castle during their adventure with a beanstalk, a golden harp and a big bully.

They discover courage and empathy as they realize what it means to be a hero. Colorful sets, characters and puppets interact with the audience during the show. Call 317-462-5141 to register.

Hancock County 4-H Fair exhibits to kick off

GREENFIELD — The Hancock County 4-H Fair (grounds are at 620 N. Apple St.) opens Friday and runs through next week.

Admission to the fair is free, and the barns will be open for animal lovers young and old to visit.

Visitors can interact with livestock and farm animals, walk through the exhibit halls and enjoy live music.

Latino Festival to take place at Military Park

INDIANAPOLIS — “El Dia de la Familia” (Family Day) is the theme for the 15th annual Latino Festival coming to Military Park, 601 W. New York St., Indianapolis, from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine.

This event offers the community a full day of Latin foods, music and family fun.

Admission is free. There will be live music and activities throughout the day, a wide selection of food vendors, desserts, a beer garden and more.

Activities for children include crafts, games, an inflatable bounce house and pony rides.

White River State Park set to host Asian Fest

INDIANAPOLIS — Celebrate the cultural heritage of Asia from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Asian Fest at White River State Park, 801 W. Washington St.

This free family-friendly event features the sights, sounds and tastes of the different cultures of Asia in one festival marketplace.

Events include cultural performances, Asian games and activities, Asian cuisine from local restaurants, and Asian merchant vendors.
