GREENFIELD — A Shirley man is in jail after a local girl told police she received vulgar text messages from the man, asking her to participate in sexual acts, police said. Christopher Dail, 19, was arrest Friday on charges of inappropriate communication with children and child solicitation.

Dail reportedly sent text and social media messages to the victim, asking her to join in sexual acts with him and his girlfriend for a three-month period in 2014, police said.

The girl told police that on one occasion, Dail exposed himself in front of her and tried to touch her, court documents said.

She pushed him away and didn’t tell her mother about the incident until March, police said. Dail faces a Level 5 felony charge of child solicitation and a Class A misdemeanor charge of inappropriate communication.

If convicted, he could serve up to seven years in prison and pay up to $10,000 in fines.
