INDIANAPOLIS — Several Mt. Vernon High School students were among more than 800 Family, Career and Community Leaders of America members, ProStart competitors, advisers, alumni and guests from around Indiana who recently gathered in Indianapolis for the 2015 Indiana FCCLA State Leadership Conference.

Attending members raised more than $300 for Share Our Strength, the organization’s national outreach project. Chapters around the state have been raising funds for Share Our Strength and continued that support at the conference. The FCCLA State Executive Council helped in the fundraising by hosting “Miracle Minutes” to raise funds during the conference.

The following Mt. Vernon High School FCCLA members received top scores to attend the National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C., in July: Kaylee Lyons and Alex Boulanger for Interpersonal Communications “Let’s Talk;” Zach Boulanger and Aaron Eason for Chapter in Review Display.

Mt. Vernon also received the Gold Honor Chapter Award, the highest award for an FCCLA chapter.
