Revival services set in Charlottesville

CHARLOTTESVILLE — Revival services begin at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday at Charlottesville Friends Church, four blocks south of U.S. 40 on Carthage Road.

Services continue at 7 p.m. daily Monday through Wednesday.

The evangelist will be the Rev. Claude Creel. The song evangelist is Fred Powers, and the pianist is Rowena Holliday.

Annual Sunshine conference continues

Sunshine International Ministries’ annual Prayer and Fasting Conference continues at 1 p.m. today at Evangel Christian Church, 1221 E. Main St.

During the conference, which began Thursday, Sunshine missionaries from China, Philippines, Mexico, Myanmar, Japan, Korea and Thailand will share their testimonies. The conference also features teaching and prayer services.

Zimbabwe speaker comes to Bradley

GREENFIELD — Bradley United Methodist Church, 210 W. Main St., is having its annual Faith Promise Sunday on Sunday.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. Ted Halsted, a representative of Africa University in Zimbabwe. Halsted will speak at the 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services, with a time of discussion during the 9:30 Gathering Time.

The mission of Africa University is to provide quality education within a Pan-African context through which people can acquire general and professional knowledge and skills, grow in spiritual maturity, and develop sound moral values, ethics and leadership qualities.

Theology, fiction author will speak at New Life

Dr. Barry Callen will speak Sunday at New Life Christian Fellowship. He is a former academic dean of Anderson University and the author of more than 40 books on subjects ranging from theology to historical fiction.

Callen will speak on Hebrews 5:11-14 in a message titled “A Call to Maturity.”

Service times are 8:55 a.m. and 10:35 a.m.

Motorcycle riders gather for fellowship

GREENFIELD — Members of the Crossroad Riders, the Greenfield chapter of the Christian Motorcyclist Association, meet at 9 a.m. the third Saturday of most months at Jim Dandy restaurant and also gather to enjoy rides together.

The group will do a blessing at American Legion Post 119’s Rally for Veterans motorcycle ride supporting the Job Ready Veterans Program. The event is set for 9 a.m. May 16.

Amity plans plant sale to benefit renovation

Amity United Methodist Church will have its 13th annual plant sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 2.

The sale will feature perennials, herbs, vegetables, lilies, hostas, gift plants, custom metal yard accessories, birdhouses, large porch pots, annuals, primitive wood furniture and miscellaneous yard items.

All proceeds from the sale will go toward the renovation of the church’s community center.

The church is at county roads 600W and 100N.

Eden United Methodist to serve breakfast

GREENFIELD — Eden United Methodist Church will serve breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. May 2. An offering will be accepted to support local and global mission work.

Mohawk plans pork chop dinner

GREENFIELD — Mohawk United Methodist Church will play host to the annual Pork Chop Dinner County Fair Style from 5 to 7:30 p.m. May 2.

The menu features pork chops and pork burgers with applesauce, baked beans, chips, bread and butter, dessert and a beverage. An offering will be accepted.
