NEW PALESTINE — It’s not everyday local residents get the opportunity to see tigers, lions, zebras and professionally trained circus acts in their home town.
For the second time in three years, the New Palestine Lions Club is hosting the Kelly Miller Circus.
Labeled “America’s One Ring Wonder,” the traveling show will be in New Palestine on Wednesday for two shows at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Organizer Mark Kennedy said town officials heard nothing but positive comments the last time the circus was in town, so they wanted to host it again.

Kennedy said he is excited about the show’s offerings, which include tricks from elephants and tigers and a trapeze act.
Kennedy said the show gives parents a chance to let their kids see a professional circus show without having to travel miles to do so.
The ticket prices are also a lot cheaper, Kennedy added.
Two years ago, the two shows in New Palestine attracted an estimated 600 people, Kennedy said.
He’s hoping even more will want to attend this time around.
“Just the idea of bringing that old traveling circus back where they come in for a day is a little nostalgic,” he said.
Advance tickets are on sale for $12 for adults, and $6 for children (age 2 and younger are admitted free).
Lions Club officials receive a portion of ticket sales bought in advance, Kennedy said. All proceeds for tickets bought on the day of the circus go to the Kelly Miller Circus.
Advanced tickets can be purchased at the New Palestine Chamber of Commerce at Town Hall, Ameriana Bank and Greenfield Banking Company in New Palestine.
You can also see the Kelly Miller Circus on Tuesday at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. in Fortville on the lot between The Bridge Church & the Fortville Medical Center. Tickets for all performances are available online at kellymillercircus.com.
