Donald Lee Chandler, 88, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born on July 8, 1926, in Greenfield as the son of James B. and Myrtle (Kirkpatrick) Chandler.

He served in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific.

He worked as an auto body technician for many years. Mr. Chandler was a member of the American Legion. He was a collector of cars, dolls, coins, trains, and stamps.

Donald is survived by his children, Teresa Lee Chandler, Jeffrey Donald Chandler, Cathy Jean Chandler, and John Bradley Chandler; grandchildren Julie Castillo, Michael Castillo, and Summer Herron; four great-grandchildren; and good neighbor and close family friend, Julie Zamora.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James B. and Myrtle (Kirkpatrick) Chandler; and brothers Thomas Chandler and Lowell Chandler.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of the donor’s choice.
