Hoosier veterans invited to job fair

INDIANAPOLIS — The ninth annual Operation Hire a Hoosier Veteran Job Fair is set for Wednesday at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

The job fair runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature nearly 200 employers looking to hire qualified applicants.

All service members, veterans, spouses and family members are welcome to attend. Attendees are asked to pre-register at ohhv.org.

Admission is free.

INDOT sponsors small-business training

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Transportation’s economic opportunity division is hosting an education event April 21 for women- and minority-owned small businesses. 

The department’s economic opportunity staff will give information about becoming certified as a disadvantaged business enterprise and offer help in filling out the application.

The workshop is from 1 to 3 p.m. at Indianapolis Public Library in Indianapolis.

Chamber hosts celebration event

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Community Walk of Fame Awards Celebration is scheduled for April 23.

The awards celebration celebrates nominees for businesswoman of the year, businessman of the year, community hero, entrepreneurial spirit, nonprofit community service, chamber service and chamber champion.

The event also will feature a live auction, and businesses and chamber members may donate items.

Tickets to the event are $50.

Space available for National Road Yard Sale

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Main Street is renting space in downtown Greenfield for the National Road Yard Sale.

The National Road Yard Sale stretches more than 800 miles along Old National Road, known in Greenfield as Main Street.

Businesses and residents interested in selling items during the garage sale should contact Shelley Swift at 317-586-8166.

The booth space can be rented on the courthouse lawn and in city parking lots for $25.

The yard sale is set for May 30.
