GREENFIELD — The Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen will host its fourth annual Leap of Faith dinner and auction on April 11 at Brandywine Community Church.

The event will feature dinner by the BBQ’N Fools, music by Jim Rowe and stand-up comedy from Clara Trusty.

Doors open at 6 p.m., with dinner scheduled to be served at 6:30 p.m. A live auction starts at 7:45 p.m.

The Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen opened in 2009 and has served more than 213,000 meals to Hancock County residents in need.

Here are three things to know about the Leap of Faith dinner:

1. It helps keep the lights on.

Money raised from dinner ticket sales and auction purchases will be used to cover overhead, utilities and other expenses associated with keeping the soup kitchen, 202 E. Main St. in Greenfield, up and running, organizers said.

2. It is in a growth spurt.

This is the first year the Leap of Faith dinner and auction will be held at Brandywine Community Church because the event has outgrown its previous location at NineStar Connect.

Organizers said they expect this to be one of their more popular fundraisers this year.

3. Tickets are on sale now.

Tickets are $35 per person. Interested attendees can visit the soup kitchen to purchase tickets or mail a check to the location, and tickets will be mailed back.

PayPal users can purchase tickets online at kbmsk.org by clicking the “donate” button. Organizers ask for a note to be left with each purchase indicating the money is for Leap of Faith tickets.

Tickets can be purchased up to the night of the event.
