Suspicious person report prompts school lockdown
NEW PALESTINE — New Palestine Elementary and New Palestine High schools briefly were placed on lockdown Friday afternoon after a student reported seeing a suspicious person outside the elementary.
Police checked the grounds of the school and nearby New Palestine High School but found nothing suspicious.
Dismissal of high school and elementary students was temporarily delayed. Officers remained on scene while students were released to ensure safety.
