Ronald J. White, 80, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, at Springhurst Health Campus. He was born on May 21, 1934, in Speedway, Ind., as the son of Hester and Lenora (Barnett) White.
He graduated from Speedway High School. He served in the Army. Ronald married Marlene (Smith) on July 27, 1957.
He worked for Ford Motor Company for 30 years before retiring in 1987. Mr. White was a member of Beech Grove Masonic Lodge #694.
Ron is survived by his son, Roger J. White of Scottsdale, Ariz.; daughter, Joyce A. (Robert) Allford of Morristown; sister, Doris Marple of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Steve Allford, Christy McNichols, Ryan White, and Zach White; and one great-grandchild, Colston Allford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hester and Lenora (Barnett) White; wife, Marlene (Smith) White; brothers, Richard and Junior White.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, with a masonic service at 11:30 a.m., at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Russ Jarvis will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be sent to Alzheimer’s Association, 50 East 91st Street #100, Indianapolis, IN 46240 or envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
