Alberta Kelly, 98, of Jonesboro passed away Friday Jan. 16, 2015, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She was born in Greenfield on July 24, 1916, to the late Bert and Cleyo Breese Kimmick.
She had lived in Jonesboro since 1972, moving from Indiana. Alberta was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survived by her son, Kent (Bonnie) Kelly of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Brian (Michelle) Kelly and Kim (Greg) Laffoon; four great-grandchildren, Kyle Kelly, Charla Hart, Clint Simpson and Trace Laffoon; three great-great-grandchildren, Acelen Hart, Tripp Hart and Phoenix Kelly.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time on Wednesday Jan. 21, 2015, in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Patty Soward officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, 801 S. Main St., Jonesboro, Arkansas or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
