Peggy M. Haznedl, 93, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015. She was born March 26, 1921, in Carlinville, IL to the late John M. and Estelle Truselle Ferguson.
Peggy was a sweet lady, and was loved by everyone she met. She was the first resident of Springhurst Health Campus, and was lovingly known there as the “Queen”. It was her personal mission to help be a caretaker for her fellow residents, and she did her best to keep the staff in line as well. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, going to the casino, and keeping her mind sharp with crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her children, Charles E. (Susan) Haznedl, Jr., Peggy J. (David) Hines, and David N. (Kristie) Haznedl; grandchildren, Charles E. Haznedl, III, Terri S. Osborne, David P. Hines, Sara K. Laska, Jake C. Haznedl, and Joel D. Haznedl; sister, Estelle Thamm; and many loving nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Haznedl, Sr.; grandson, John M. Haznedl and brother, Jack Ferguson.
Friends may call from noon until the time of service. Interment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. The family is being served by Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington Street where a Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015.
