Frank “Eddie” Edward Chestnut, 69, of Greenfield, passed away Oct. 9, 2014, at Kindred Transitional Care of Greenfield. He was born on Dec. 18, 1944, in Odon, Ind., as the son of Alfred Frank Chestnut and Wilma (Ferguson) Chestnut Stevens.
He graduated from Odon Madison Township High School in 1963 and married Edna (Malone) Chestnut on May 16, 1964, in Odon.
Eddie worked for Ford Motor Company as a thread grinder, and retired from the company in 1986. He was a member of Brandywine Community Church and had a demit from the Morristown Masonic Lodge. In his free time, Eddie enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycles.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Edna; son, Rodney Chestnut of Greenfield; daughter, Stacey Fritz of Greenfield; sister, Mary Hostetler of Bloomington; and 5 grandchildren, Kheely and Dusti Chestnut, and Alyssa, Aaron and Alaina Fritz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Chestnut; and step-father, Carl Stevens.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m.on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, also at the mortuary. Pastor Mark Wright will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
