Roy Lee Fields, 74, of Greenfield, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at Community Hospital North. He was born on April 6, 1940, in Cumberland, Ky., as the son of Matthew and Goldie (Sturgill) Fields. He married IvaDale (Collins) on Oct. 16, 1960, in Kentucky.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, IvaDale (Collins) Fields of Greenfield; children, Gary Fields of Greenfield, Bobby Fields of Indianapolis, Lisa (Michael II) Goddard of Greenfield, Kelly Fields of Greenfield, and Wendy Rothrock of Indianapolis; sister-in-law, Mildred Fields of Greenfield; brother-in-law, Edward C. Fields of Cumberland, Ky.; five grandchildren; and great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Goldie (Sturgill) Fields; one granddaughter; one grandson; brother, Junior Ray Fields; and sister, Allie Elizabeth Fields.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, also at the mortuary. Pastor Sean Rose will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
