Rudolph J. “Rudy” Boisvenue, PhD., 88 of Greenwood passed away Sept. 28, 2014, at Aspen Trace, Greenwood. He was born Aug. 30, 1926, in Winsor, Ontario, Canada to the late Adonias and Henriette (La Liberte) Boisvenue. He married Mary (Masaro) Boisvenue on Jan. 29, 1951.

Rudy attended the University of Winsor, received his Master’s degree from the University of Detroit and received his Doctorates from Michigan State University. Rudy served in the Royal Canadian Air Force then began his career in the mid 1950’s at Ralston Purina in St. Louis, Mo., and then went on to his 30+ year career as a Senior Research Scientist in Helminthology and Parasitology with Eli Lilly prior to his retirement.

He was a member of St Michael Catholic Church, former President of the Greenfield Sertoma Club and many other civic organizations. Rudy loved to garden, and was constantly busy with many projects throughout the years. He was the guiding force in the lives of his children and grandchildren

Rudy is survived by sons, Marc (Kaye) Boisvenue of Indianapolis, Martin (Melanie) Boisvenue of Knightstown, Mike Boisvenue of Arlington, Va., daughters, Mary (Jim) Burton of Indianapolis, Michelle LaFleur of Oklahoma City, Okla., 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mary Boisvenue in 2012.

Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Funeral Mass will be 10 am, Friday, Oct. 3rd at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519  Jefferson Street, Greenfield with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis.
