Lola Maude Wolski (Smalley), 77, lifelong resident of Shirley, died Sept. 17, 2014.  Born Feb. 16, 1937, in Shirley. She was a daughter of Woodrow Wilson Smalley and Celia A. Smalley (Whisman) who proceed her in death.

Graduated Wilkinson High School in Wilkinson, in 1955. Early on she attended Ball State University School of Nursing, worked in New York as a model, and assembled telephones for Westinghouse. She was a dedicated and active CCD Teacher and Church Lady at St. Rose of Lima, in Knightstown, Hospice provider, and professional crossword puzzle solver. She was an avid reader, talented needle pointer and enthusiastic sports fan. Her favorite sport was whatever her children, grandchildren, or nieces and nephews were playing she wholeheartedly attended as many games as possible.

Survivors include her daughter, and son-in-law, Laura (Wolski) and Mark Smith; grandson, Jacob of Cicero, Ind., and son, James Wolski; granddaughter, Paige; and grandsons, Grant  and Reid of Troy, Mi.; sisters, Jean Fairchild (Smalley) of Spiceland, and Jayne (Ken) Fort (Smalley) of Roswell,Ga.; sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Richard) Wolski of Shirley, Judy (Donald) Wolski Greenwood; along with several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her husband of 48 years, Robert Thomas Wolski; and brothers, William, Lemuel, and Tracy Smalley.

Rite of Christian Burial to be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Cicero Ind., at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27th. Brunch immediately following. Joint burial for Robert and Lola will be at 1:30 p.m. at the McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
