Martha Virginia (Guffin) Belton, 91, of Waldron, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at the Indiana Masonic Home. She was born on Dec. 22, 1922, in Orange Township, Fayette County, as the daughter of the late Bernice and Hallie (Ham) Guffin. She graduated from Morristown High School in 1940.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Rita K. Fair Coates of Mexico; sister-in-law, Lela Guffin Ewing; step-children, Neal Belton and Mary Jo Lieland; several nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Hallie (Ham) Guffin; husband, William R. Belton; sons James Fair and Jack Fair; brothers, Kenneth Guffin, Eugene (Deedle) Guffin and Rolland (Pud) Guffin; and sister, Pauline Brokering.
Viewing one hour prior to the service. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. Pastor Rob Keaton will be officiating. Burial will follow at Hanover Cemetery in Morristown.
