Shirley Veronica Donahue, 84, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Rosegate Village in Indianapolis. She was born Dec. 2, 1929, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Ralph and Josephine (Smith) Brouse. Shirley graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in Indianapolis.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Theresa Brickens of Indianapoliis, Veronica McGhee and Angela Donahue Wykoff, both of Shelbyville and Bridget (Butch) Schilling, of Spring City, Tenn.; son, Christopher (Katrina) Donahue, of Fairland; sisters, Elizabeth Lopez of Plainfield and Dorothy Raby of Knoxville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Cecilia Donahue; sisters, Eileen Schuler and Nancy Brouse; and brother, Thomas Brouse.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville, with the rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St. in Shelbyville. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Indianapolis.
