Ottie “Jean” Bitner, 80, of Wilkinson, passed away Friday morning, March 28, 2014, at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield. He was born April 9, 1933, in Rush County, the son of the late Ottie C. and Hazel (Jackson) Bitner.

Jean was an avid farmer for 50 years and drove a school bus for Madison and Hancock schools for 50 years as well. He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, of 59 years, Betty (McClarnon) Bitner of Wilkinson; two daughters, Sheryl (Ron) Graeflin of Katy, Texas and Stephanie (Chris) Pitcock  of Shirley; grandchildren; Brittny (Andy) Rouse of Greenfield, Aaron (Ashley) Cole of Pendleton, Zacary and Abigail Graeflin of Katy Texas; great grandchildren, Hayden and Madisyn Rouse; brother and sister-in-law Joe and Jean Prickett of Fortville; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Delmas Bitner, sisters, Mildred Frohme and Maxine Bitner.

Friend may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m.Thursday, April 3, 2014. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2014, at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Jack Duckworth officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
