Virginia L. Griffith, 83, of New Palestine, passed away March 11, 2014, at her residence. She was born on March 17, 1930, to the late Vasten and Bessie Copass in Tompkinsville, Ky.

She enjoyed being a housewife and was married to Cecil Brummett, who proceeded her in death. She was a member of the Hunter Road Baptist Church and loved spending her time volunteering at the Frenzy Animal Rescue.

Virginia is survived by five daughters, Barbara Trobaugh, Betty Jo (Gary) Wilkins,  Linda Brummett (Darry Montgomery), Brenda Reed, Marty Brummett (Tommy Brown); three sons, Bobbie Brummett, Cecil (Elizabeth) Brummett, James Hughes (Betty Smith); numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren.

  She is proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil Brummett; son, Samuel Brummett and brother, James Kingrey.

The family of Virginia would like to acknowledge Kristen Jenkins for all of the loving care and support she has given the last couple of years to not only Virginia but her family as well.

Visitation will be  from 4-8 p.m.held at Hendryx Mortuary Cumberland Chapel on Friday, March 14, 2014, and a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014, with her burial to immediately follow at New Palestine Cemetery.
