George F. Faut, 93, of New Palestine, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014. George was born Oct. 15, 1920, to John F. and Mabel Faut, and lived most of his life in New Palestine. He married Helena Gray on March 22, 1943.

He spent 42 years on the Pennsylvania/New York Central/Conrail Railroads, retiring in 1981 and farmed in addition. He was a 1938 graduate of New Palestine High School and was a member of the New Palestine United Methodist Church. He served in the 728th Transportation Railroad Regiment during WWll.

He is survived by his son, James (Kathy) Faut of Knightstown; daughters, Jeanne Jenkins and Nancy Faut of New Palestine; grandkids, Jeff (Tania) Jenkins, Julie Jenkins, Aaron (Tiffany) Faut, Corey (Jessica) Clark, Sabrina (Aaron) Dunaway, Matthew Clark, Kelly (Cory) Judd, David and Jon (Mayumi) Kurz; great -grandkids, Jace Jenkins, Hunter Faut, Dean and Noah Dunaway, Tyler Scheerer, Ashley, Brittney, and Cameron Dean, Sasha, Alysha, and Nicholas Kurz, and Connor and Cayla Judd; great-great- grandkids, Zachary and Hunter Kurz.

  He is preceded in death by his wife, Helena Faut; daughter, Karen Sue Faut; son-in-law, Jerry D. Jenkins; parents, John and Mable Faut; sister, Mary Kottlowski; brother, Roy Faut; and many in-laws.

  Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2014, at Hendryx Mortuary, 19 East Main Street, New Palestine, with a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, with a one hour calling prior to service time. Burial will immediately follow in New Palestine Cemetery.
