Richard L. Goudy, 83, of Shirley, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis. Born Sept. 8, 1930, in Shirley, and is son of the late Nim and Kate (Wiles) Goudy.

Richard served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a life long farmer and retired from Modernfold in New Castle. He had also worked for Chrysler and Delco Remy. He is a member of the Shirley Masonic Lodge #531 and the Wilkinson Church of Christ. Richard enjoyed woodworking and riding his tractor.

He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Kaleda (Wisehart) Goudy of Shirley; son, Gary (Penny) Goudy of Shirley; daughters, Deanna (Otha) Smith of Knightstown and Karen (Tammy Palmer) Turner of Overland Park, Ks.; grandchildren, Christy (Lee) Herrin, Angela (Scott) Holbert, Tara (Gabe) Peters, Katrina Hill, Jacob (Della) Wieneke, Susan (Josh) Whitaker and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Basil, Russell, Eugene and LeRoy Goudy; five sisters, Ruth Goudy, LaVada Goudy, Madalen Zinko, Augusta Lanigan and Eva Jordan.

Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, with a Masonic Service at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Russ Lutes officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
