David Franklin Leisure, 71, passed away Jan. 14, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was the son of Howard F. and Helen M. (Jackson) Leisure of Carthage.
David loved tractor pulling and riding his Goldwing motorcycle. He retired from Delco Remy after 30 years.
Left to cherish his memory and life is Judith E. Griffin, whom he married Oct. 8, 1961; two daughters, Debbie (Paul) Butler and Cathy Shelton (Roy Pribble), both of Shirley; three grandchildren, Jessica (Daniel) Overman, Timothy (Marlene) Wyatt, and Brittany (Travis) Thibeault; five great- grandchildren, A.J. Thibeault, Carson and Bryce Overman, Tanner and Cooper Wyatt; brother, Dudley (Jenell) Leisure; sister, Judy (Larry) Nelson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daryl F. Leisure and two sisters, Wanda Messer and Anita Logan.
Calling is from 2 – 8 p.m, on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at Heritage Funeral Care in Knightstown. Services for David will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at the funeral home.Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery in Rushville with Pastor Bill Palmer presiding.
