Jimmie Douglas Modglin, 71, of Greenfield, passed away on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Roudebush V.A. Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born on Nov. 11, 1942, in Lawrence, the son of Bearle H. and Gladys “Jewel” (Wortham) Modglin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Joan of Greenfield; sons, Raymond Modglin of Southport, Kenneth Modglin of Greenfield; sister, Malinda McConnell of Fortville; Aunt Olivia and Aunt Genevia of Ark.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, John and Leamon Modglin.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, also at the mortuary. Pastor Jack Stout will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
