Larry Stucker, “Old Dad”

Larry Stucker, “Ole Dad”, 71, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. Born in Indianapolis on July 30, 1942, he was the son of Glenn and Helena (Buchanon) Stucker.

He graduated from Warren Central High School, where he met his wife of 53 years, Debbie (Chamberlain) Stucker. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1994, after 30 years of service and was a member of UAW Retiree Local 1226. In the 70’s and 80’s, Larry raced go-carts and coached girls’ softball at Bel-East Little League. After retirement, he stayed busy with his love for woodworking, teaching scroll saw classes at Woods-Work woodworking store and making wooden toys, baskets and other works of art in Ole Dad’s Shoppe.

Surviving him are his wife, Debbie (Chamberlain) of New Palestine; daughters, Lynda (Jerry) Hanna, and Cyndie (Doug) Campbell; a brother Joe (Paula) Stucker; Brownsburg, a sister-in-law Diana (Kevin) Higgins; former brother-in-law and best friend, Dave (Eunice) Vincent; grandchildren, Tiffany Hanna and Rachel Campbell; nieces and nephews, Joel and Christina Stucker, Katie, Sam and Paul Higgins, and great -niece, Lucy Higgins.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Jerry Stucker.

A memorial gathering will be at 3- 7 p.m on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. with Fr. Stevan Bauman officiating.
