Billy R. Manis, 73, of McCordsville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at IU Saxony Health in Fishers. He was born in Wayne County, Ind., on May 4, 1940 to the late Luther A. and Bessie Mae (Wilburn) Manis.
Billy retired from Ford Motor Company in 2000 after 40 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of UAW Local #1111.
Billy is survived by daughter, Dianna (David) McCarty of McCordsville; son, Cary Manis; grandchildren, Justin and Kellie Manis of Framington Hills, Mich.; Victoria and Samantha McCarty of McCordsville; brother, James (Marva) Manis of Greenfield; sisters, Thelma (Bill) Coch of Ohio and DeeDee Haynes of New Castle, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanna L. Manis in 2012; sister, Bessie Stevens; brothers, Roy, Paul, E.R. and Eugene.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fortville.
A celebration of Billy’s life will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rob Rigsbee of the Fortville Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
